The Storm

He felt the wind whip into him as he reached the edge of the cliff. The climb was long and tiring, but he had reached the top at last. He stared straight towards the horizon, searching for traces of sun which were fast disappearing. The view was like a painting, as the world turned into a palette of fading colours. The sky became a mix of orange and purple as the bright red ball took a dip into the darkening ocean. The birds raced past as the clouds started looming closer to the ground. Taking a deep breath, he felt the spray of the sea accompany the cold air into his lungs. Down below, the waves were playing a morbid symphony as they kept crashing into the face of the cliff.  He stared straight on, searching answers to questions he hadn't yet found. The wind whipped on, turning into a gale, as the clouds loomed closer than ever, lightning admist their empty dark bellies. With a crash of thunder , the rain broke out. He could feel his skin shiver as the cold piercing drops landed on him, each drop colder than the latter. The harsh wind blew all around him as he looked straight on, unflinching in his thoughts... Darkness descended, and soon, everything was calm...
